WHO Health Academy - Action Research Program (Egypt & Jordan)
In collaboration with Ministries of Education, Health, and Communication & Cisco-Systems
Objective
To
assess, improve, monitor, and re-evaluate KAP of school students, their
teachers & schools’ staff, students’ families, and their community
towards healthier life styles (RH, Nutrition, Food Safety, Personal
Hygiene, Tobacco, Substance Abuse, Road Safety, Violence, HIV, and
Blood Transmitted Diseases).
Tasks
- Selecting a representative sample of preparatory & secondary schools in Egypt & Jordan (46 schools / 5000 students, 500 schools’ staff, and parents).
- Baseline assessment (Pre-Assessment KAP study on students, school staff, local education administrations, and parents).
- Capacity building of School staff on Mentoring, E-learning, Facilitation, Assessment, and Health Promotion E-Modules to create national critical mass to ensure program sustainability .
- Implementing the E-learning program (including pre-test & post-test analysis, monitoring techniques & tools) & integrating it within health promotion curriculum and activities (computer classes, scientific clubs, environment activities clubs, parents’ boards, etc.).
- Post-Assessment KAP study, analysis, & reporting (students, school staff, and families after one school year) .
