Community Action for Health Promotion, Study Tour in Egypt, in Collaboration with USAID-Amman
HCI organized a study tour for Jordanian health promoters to investigate Egypt's experience to encourage Jordanians to take a more active role in maintaining and improving their health. Health. The study tour covered relevant interventions in Cairo, Fayoum & Alexandria.
Objectives:
- To conduct seminars with MOHP officials, Suez canal university professors and community experts including NGOs.
- To observe, through structured visits and discussions, the scope, scale and effects of Health Promotion in Egypt.
- To observe and learn from the visits in Cairo, Fayoum, and Alexandria where community participation models are most developed.
- To observe, discuss and exchange ideas, initiatives and experiences with policy makers and stakeholders from government, NGOs, private and public sectors concerning the relative merits and effectiveness of a variety of policy and programming responses, particularly with respect to resource allocation.
- To gain personal experience of Health Promotion and its impact on the community.
