Pharmaceutical Reform Program - Egypt in Collaboration with EC & HSRP
The project has been implemented during March-December 2006 by a consortium formed from KIT-the Netherlands and HCI - Egypt.
Purpose
To
build the organizational and individual capacity of the four entities
governing the pharmaceutical sector in Egypt (CAPA-Central
Administration of Pharmaceutical Affairs, NODCAR-National Organization
of Drug Control & Research, CPPP-Centre of Pharmaceutical Policy
Planning, and NOBCAR-National Organization of Biologicals Control and
Research
The following technical and organizational areas have been covered:
- QA, GMP, and Auditing System.
- Inspection.
- Assessment of Drug Effects.
- Drug Code of Ethics in Egypt.
- Dispensing Procedures and Application Problems.
- Drug Registration.
- Drug Pricing.
- Drug Licensing.
- Scientific Research Procedures in Drug Sector.
Organizational and Individual Capacity Building Program:
- The program covered the four entities, the HSRP management team, and 455 participants representing central and governorates teams.
- 166 training days have been accomplished.
- Twenty one training courses completed.
- Training Curricula including trainees and trainers manuals were developed.
- Dutch experience has been well allocated to enrich the Egyptian experience.
- Monthly and Final reports with multi-level recommendations.
